Kolkata: The former stalwarts of Indian football start a silent mutiny against the parent body of Indian football The AIFF. Suddenly, former footballers like Subrata Bhattacharya, Subhash Bhowmick, Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Bhaskar Ganguly, Syed Naeemuddin and Prashanta Banerjee all came under the same roof today for a closed door meeting at the FCI club tent. And there lies the mystery.

Though none of the players made any significant comment on this meeting and tried to avoid the topic, it is learnt that all the players spoke on the grief they had in their mind and will sit again in the next week for further discussion. Subrata Bhattacharya told www.xtratime.in ,”I won’t say much right now about the meeting and if needed will tell you accordingly.”

Earlier as well, former players like Manoranjan Bhattacharya and Subrata Bhattacharya tried to form a football players’ association, but as the plans got leaked, they backed out on an immediate effect. That is why the former players are much more circumspect this time. All the former footballers have their respective grievances against the Federation, like licensing criteria, coaching degrees and lack of transparency of their vision to run Indian Football. Previously, Manaranjan and Bhaskar filed a case on the matter against The AIFF a few months back, but it was not at all a constructive one. But this time, they seemed much more organized on their mission.
