Kolkata: Like the other U19 Indian cricketers who are currently playing in the ICC U19 World Cup, Bengal’s young pacer Ishan Porel thought that he would also get a chance in any of Indian Premier League team this season. But all the eight franchises didn’t show any interest to buy him in the auction and one of India’s future star of Indian cricket remained unsold in the auction.

Prithvi Shaw, Kamlesh Nagarkotti, Shubman Gill and Shivam Mavi all the star performers in the U19 World Cup have got their teams, but all the eight franchises didn’t show their interest to buy Ishan. Not only that Ishan’s state franchise and two-time IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders also didn’t show any hurry to buy the lad of Bengal.

On being asked about the matter, a top official of KKR told www.xtratime.in that,” We had a chat with Rahul Dravid ahead of the team selection. It was our moto that we would give the youngsters a lot of chances in this season and that’s why we have bought Kamlesh, Shubman and Shivam.”

“On the other hand Ishan faced an injury during India’s first match of the stint against Australia. Later after making his return, he didn’t get any wickets against Bangladesh. Now the team had played the semi-final against Pakistan on Tuesday which had happened two days after auction. I just want to make it clear that all the U19 players who have been picked by the team management are performing really well in the ongoing U19 World Cup.”

Not only the KKR now all the other franchises would be kicking themselves for their decision about not picking Ishan in their team after watching his destructive spell against Pakistan today, but a lot of franchises still have money left in their kitty and after this brilliant show a side can buy him ahead of the IPL.
