FIFA U17 World Cup: Teams to visit Kolkata, the most fascinating venue on Sunday

Kolkata: The South American Champions, The North American Champions, The Asian Champions and the world football super-power England will be in Kolkata tomorrow to visit the most fascinating venue of the FIFA U17 World Cup in October. The Group F teams for the FIFA U17 World Cup to visit the venue and the other facilities they need to undergo before the mega footballing event. All four teams, England, Chile, Mexico and Iraq will be coming to the city with their respective representatives in the morning.

Observing team The four teams England, Chile, Mexico and Iraq will turn up at the match venue, the Salt Lake Stadium around 10am in the morning. Every team will be comprising of three representatives and a total of 12 representatives will monitor the facilities.

The things they will check The match venue, the training grounds, nearest hospitals, hotels, distance from the ground to the airport. The teams will also check the two additional practice turfs at SAI.

The VYBK Stadium 
Current capacity: 76,000, but The FIFA will sell 67,000 tickets to allow the organizers to do ample amount of branding.

Stadium and ground conditions: Due to the heavy rain of the Monsoon, the developmental growth has stunted a bit. The expenses too are getting affected. Around Rs.120crore has already been spent to restructure the gigantic stadium. The turf, the pitch and the sitting arrangements though are ready.
