Xtra Time Web Desk: World No 1 side Belgium rode on a brilliant performance from Kevin De Bryune to defeat hosts Denmark in EURO 2020 Group B clash at the Parken stadium on Thursday. The victory also guaranteed the Red Devils a place the last 16 stage. De Bryune was involved in both the goals, assisting Thorgan Hazard to score the equalizer in the 54th minute and also scoring the winning goal in the 70th minute.

It was Denmark who showed purpose in their attack at the start resulting in Yussuf Poulsen giving the lead inside 2 minutes. The Danes should have doubled their lead during the first half too as world No 1 side Belgium looked lethargic across the field.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez made a tactical change at half time by bringing in De Bruyne for Dries Mertens. De Bruyne had a positive impact as he set up Thorgan Hazard for the equalizer. De Bryune was on target in the 70th minute as his powerful volley found the back of the net much to the disappointment of Danish fans.

The fans paid a tribute to Cristian Eriksen in the tenth minute as the two teams, officials and fans applauded the Denmark No 10, who is recovering at a hospital close to the Copenhagen arena.
