Xtra Time Web Desk: Substitute Artem Dovbyk headed his first international goal for Ukraine in added time at the end of extra time to sink ten-man Sweden 2-1 in the EURO 2020 pre-quarter final clash at Hampden Park on Tuesday night. Zinchenko gave Ukraine the lead in 27th minute while Frosberg equalized for Sweden towards the end of first half. It is the first time Ukraine have reached the quarter finals of Euros. Andriy Shevchenko’s team will now face England in the quarter finals at Rome on Saturday.

It was Ukraine who took the lead against their fancied opponents as Zinchenko’s powerful strike found the back of the net in the 27th minute. Sweden managed to score the equalizer towards the end of first half as Emil Frosberg’s shot deflected into the goal. It was also his fourth goal in as many games at EURO 2020.

Both sides have had their chances in the second half with Ukraine’s Serhiy Sydorchuk hitting the post. Frosberg had another opportunity to extend his tally as his shot hitting the crossbar. Sweden were reduced to 10 men after Marcus Danielson was flashed a straight red card following a VAR check after winning the ball but catching Artem Besedin’s knee with his studs on his follow through.

It looked the match was heading for another penalty shootout until Dovbyk scored the winner in the stoppage time of extra time with a header of a cross from Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Ukraine will play their first ever quarter finals of Euros as they meet England at Rome on Saturday.
