Kolkata: Will cricket lovers from Kolkata get a chance to view a group stage match of India at the prestigious Eden Gardens? Well, chances are still there and who knows it may be a India-Pakistan mouth watering clash.
According to sources in BCCI and CAB, Eden has got a high chance with Mohali also in the reckoning to host the Indo-Pak clash if Himachal Pradesh Government stick to their decision of not hosting the match.
Earlier, Himachal Pradesh Government raised questions about hosting the match in Dharamshala. Now, BCCI is in little dilemma about this match happening in Dharamshala as the tickets and hotel bookings are already been done. If the venue is shifted, then the ICC and BCCI will face a huge loss, a senior BCCI official quoted.
Eden has been given the first preference because Pakistan will set up their base camp in Kolkata prior to World T20.
Beisdes, the final Eden will host few warm-up ties which includes a India and West Indies clash and few league matches.
