Internet Desk: Kingfisher East Bengal’s much awaited Asian foreigner Ildar Amirov will be arriving on tomorrow in the afternoon at the City of Joy. The Kyrgyzstan international will join the training with the main squad after Trevor Morgan’s men return from Goa after playing against Churchill Brothers at the Duler Football Stadium.

Amirov last played for Turanspor in Turkish League as a forward, but his track record as a striker both for his club and his national team hasn’t been too impressive. Amirov could make his debut against defending champions Bengaluru FC at home on 22nd January. It will be interesting to see how Morgan accommodates three strikers in his playing eleven.

Amirov last turned out for Turkish fifth division outfit Turanspor where he scored 13 goals in the last two years. He also has been capped at the international level for the Central Asian nation 33 times with two goals to his name, which includes an own goal. Notably, his only goal for Kyrgyzstan came against India in the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the East Bengal side arrived at the hotel in Pune after a hectic travel as they had a long flight via Ahmedabad and had to undergo a heavy traffic of almost two and a half hours at Pune before reaching to the team hotel. The Red & Gold Brigade will play their first away game against DSK Shivajians on Saturday.
