Internet Desk: Kingfisher East Bengal is marching ahead in their mission to build a strong squad before the all important meeting on 7th June, as the Red and Gold brigade have approached Aizawl FC’s star Indian full-back Ashutosh Mehta to bolster their defence. Ashutosh himself told www.xtratime.in , “Yes East Bengal has offered a th June before good proposal. Aizawl FC too are in touch with me. But I just want to wait till the 7th June to see the picture of Indian football before deciding my next destination.”

Aizawl FC President Robert Royte though confident that his team will still have a strong unit in the next season and his team is not dependent on any individual.

In a conversation www.xtratime.in , Robert Royte hinted doubts on the reappointment of Khalid Jamil as their coach in the forthcoming season and also signing Jayesh Rane or Ashutosh Mehta. To this he replied, “In football, until and unless you sign someone, nothing is official.”

When asked about whether he will be attending the Aizawl FC meeting in Kualalumpur, he said, “I am planning to go there. Both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan may boycott the meeting, but Aizawl FC is very much going to be present there.”

“I want all I-league clubs to get united. Everyone should be given proper justice in the proposed merger”, is what he feels.

He also believes that it is solely upon Khalid which club he wishes to join.  He said, “Khalid will decide about his future, not me.”

Royte also claimed that East Bengal’s contract with Mahmoud Al Amnah is not for the entire season. “Amnah has signed for East Bengal for Kolkata league only”, he added, when asked if Mahmoud Amnah has signed any other clubs.

Finally he concluded the interaction by saying, “Aizawl FC does not depend on any individual. We have the system to bring new players.”
