Kolkata: The training got finished. Accompanying his deputy Warren Hackett the East Bengal coach suddenly stopped in front of his car. Before riding on his vehicle, Trevor Morgan said in a friendly interaction with the media people, “If the club officials give me the permission, then I might go to Australia in the middle of March to meet my wife.” The East Bengal gaffer wants to go back for a vacation as there will be a national camp from the 12th March to 22nd of March as the Blue Tigers will play 2019 AFC Asia Cup Qualifying game against Macau in that phase. The leading Indian players in the Red & Gold brigade like Rowllin Borges, Jackichand Singh, Arnab Mondal, Narayan Das, Robin Singh will all be busy for the national duties.

The East Bengal coach had gone back to his country during the Calcutta Football League as well and that too before the Kolkata Derby despite several criticisms from the media and the club officials, but Trevor didn’t give too much importance to that as he had professionally maintained the contract that he had with the club at that point of time. It is to see if he gets the permission from the club this time as the team has been performing incredibly well in the ongoing Hero I-League and sitting on the top of the points table.

Tomorrow the Red and Gold brigade will play against Chennai City FC at the Barasat Stadium. Trevor took important information from his video analyst about the opposition and preparing his tactics on that on Sunday. There would be a single change for East Bengal on Sunday as Rowllin Borges will replace suspended Mehtab Hossain in the central midfield.

The East Bengal coaching team was seen having a prolonged training session with the three attacking options Robin Singh, Willis Plaza and Semboi Haokip, but Trevor said, “It was not a serious training. We were having fun.”

Though East Bengal will play against Chennai City FC tomorrow, the fever of the Kolkata derby has already started to wave around. A question was asked to the East Bengal boss on the possibility of involving Arnab Mondal against Mohun Bagan in the derby, but Trevor replied in his usual manner, “At the moment our defense has been playing really well. We are improving everyday. At the moment, our priority is only the Chennai City FC game and not the derby.”
