Kolkata: East Bengal has decided to look for a replacement for Delhi Dynamos central defender Anas Edathodika. The reason for such a move is the price demanded by the Keralite. According to club sources, Anas has demanded a price that is much above the budget of the club.

Coach Trevor Morgan has suggested the name of Anas which prompted the Red and Gold officials to start talking with the footballer. But now with the Dynamos defender demanding an absurd amount, the officials have decided to think otherwise.

East Bengal is still hopeful of Anas to reconsider his decision and lower his price which he is demanding. If his price is within the budget of club, then the officials may be inclined to sign him. In case he doesn’t then the officials will be left with no other options but to look for another central defender who can lend solidity in the defence. The club is already in talks with an African defender who has an impressive CV.

The Delhi Dynamos central defender was being targeted by both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan to play for them in forthcoming I League season. The central defender was in high demand along with Sony Norde and Jeje Lalpekhlua, who were also in the radar of both the Kolkata giants.

The footballer from Kerala has been the target for Mohun Bagan last season. But he decided to play for Pune FC last season in I League.
