Barasat : East Bengal coach Biswajit Bhattacharya is going to send a report to the club officials against Do Dong Hyun’s behaviour today at Barasat . Dong expressed his dissent on being replaced by the Red and Gold coach . The Korean made way for Joaquim in the 60th minutes . Unhappy with the decision , he he kicked a bottle kept on the sidelines and headed towards the dressing room. He was not even ready to sit in the dugout. When an East Bengal official tried to stop him from going to the dressing room he did not listen. East Bengal technical manager Alvito had to intervene and tried to pacify Dong .
Biswajit Bhattacharya later revealed in the press conference ,“If a player gets replaced he is sure to feel bad . But as a coach I have to think of the team first rather than any individual. What I have done is for the benefit of the team”. He later added, “Lobo and Abranches who were brought in as replacements made useful contributions. After Joaquim’s inclusion East Bengal got that the first goal . Lobo had a hand in the second goal .
East Bengal could have won the match by a bigger margin had the strikers converted the opportunities . The gaffer did not hide his frustration ,“ Though we have won the match but we could have scored a lot more goals. Easy chances were missed. If the strikers keep on missing the sitters it will become difficult for us in the coming games. In the Bengaluru match we missed so many chances but due to our own mistake Sunil scored the all important goal and took away the 3 points”.
Menawhile Bikash Jairu continues to impresse everyone . He is fast developing into a livewire for the Red and Gold . “ Jairu is an asset to the side. The way he is improving day by day he should be an inspiration to the juniors.” Biswajt commented about Jairu .
The coach also praised Bernard Mendy who scored on debut for East Bengal . The Frenchman was seen taking a heavy workload playing all over the turf . He later spoke to the media after the match ,“ Unlike ISL, I-league is far more competitive, as there is huge pressure from the supporters . All they want to see is a win for their favourite team . I am not only happy that I have scored but relieved that team has come back to winning ways.” signed off the French international as he boarded the team bus .
