Kolkata: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will disclose the date of start of the forthcoming I-League season after their meeting on October 20. Ahead of that they will send a primary schedule to the clubs for their approval.

Ahead of that both the Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan have started their preparation. Mohun Bagan is in Sikkim right now to play the Sikkim Governors Gold Cup, they will face ONGC in the semi-final today in a few moments. On the other hand the Red & Gold Brigade is practicing at the Howrah Municipal Stadium ahead of the I-League season.

Former Mohun Bagan defender Aniyeche Echezona came at East Bengal practice for trials but coach Khalid Jamil is not impressed with his fitness and they will not sign him in place of injured Carlyle Mitchell. The Red & Gold will play a practice match tomorrow.

There are rumours that East Bengal is in talks with last season’s Bagan defender Eduardo Ferreira, but nothing has been official yet.
