Diego Maradona’s stolen watch recovered in Assam; one arrested

Xtra Time Web Desk: A heritage Hublot watch which belonged to late legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona was recovered from Assam. The rare Hublot watch was allegedly stolen in Dubai. Assam Police has arrested one individual in connection with the theft.

The limited-edition heritage Hublot watch belonged to late Maradona was recovered by Assam Police in collaboration with the Dubai Police after getting a tip-off about the theft from a Central agency.

The accused has been identified as Wazid Hussain, a resident of Sivsagar district, who used to work as a security guard at a premise Maradona used to visit during his Dubai tours when was alive, according to police. The accused is alleged to have stolen a safe containing various belongings of Maradona, including this heritage Hublot watch.

Disclosing the recovery of Maradona’s watch, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “In an act of international cooperation, Assam police has coordinated with Dubai Police HQs through Indian federal LEA to recover a heritage Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer Late Diego Maradona and arrested one Wazid Hussein. Follow-up lawful action is being taken”
