Kolkata: Eight young footballers of East Bengal academy has been detected with dengue. They have been admitted to a private nursing home of Baguiati. Six of them are in general ward whereas two are still admitted in ICU.

The under-18 footballers of East Bengal academy are now however, stable. the footballers admitted in ICU are Lal Chand Kim and P C Rahul Puia. The others are Sun Thoi Singh, M Roger, Gurmukh Singh, Md. Basar, Surojit Telam and Ram Nagnishangn.

All these footballers used to stay at multi-storied building of Mahisbathan area. On 26th August they were detected with dengue. They were promptly admitted to the private nursing home under Dr. Sajan Chattaraj.

Today joint secretary and doctor of the club Santiranjan Dasgupta went to the nursing home to meet the footballers. He said, “There is nothing to worry. They are recovering steadily. The boys are coming to the academy from different places, so we took immediate preventive measures. We are keeping contact with their families.”
