The Portuguese superstar is said to be an outright maestro in terms of taking phenomenal free kicks. Not just that, his legs-apart stance before taking the free kick, the power, dip and swerve, the accuracy have made him a king of free kicks in modern day football.
These are all traits the Real Madrid forward appears to have passed onto his son, Cristiano junior, based on a video shared by Ronaldo senior.
The clip shows the youngster striking a free kick brilliantly into the top corner, with a strike his father would be proud of.
The Portuguese star certainly seemed impressed, sharing the slip via his Instagram page with the simple caption ‘Boom’.
In the 39-second snippet, Ronaldo junior’s opponents certainly seem aware of his reputation – although the set piece is some way out, the keeper orders a three man wall and puts players on both posts.
Young Ronaldo takes a long run up, and, after a team mate makes a dummy run, strikes the ball expertly with his laces.
The ball is still rising as it hits the back of the net, right in the top corner. Although it goes to the goalkeeper’s side, there are few footballers at that age who could get close to the shot.
Ronaldo senior will maybe take a few tips from his son, ahead of the Champions League final next week, where Real play Juventus in Cardiff.
