Internet Desk: Delhi U-19 captain Jonty Sidhu will be leading an India colts squad in the two ‘Youth Tests’ against England in Nagpur, later this month.

The team comprises mostly of players, who have been consistent in the Cooch Behar Trophy but probably will fail to make it to the next year’s U-19 One day World Cup in New Zealand next year as they would cross their age cut-off date by then.

Cooch Behar Trophy champions Bengal were rewarded with two spots in the squad as Saurabh Singh, who scored 196 in the final against Delhi and bowling all-rounder Kanishk Seth who had a score have both been included in the squad.

However both Singh and Seth are out of contention for next year’s U-19 World Cup berth.

Bengal middle order batsman Sourav Singh, who scored 196 runs in the final of Cooch Behar Trophy against Delhi is excited about his selection in the India U’19 team. According to Singh, “I am very happy to get selected for the Indian team. I am looking forward to meeting Rahul (Dravid) Sir as I want to ask him how to build the innings.”

Another Bengal cricketer, who earlier played for India U’19 squad said, “It is good to make a comeback in the U’19 Indian team. I would like to make use of the opportunity and get the most out of Rahul Sir.”

Bengal pacer Ishan Porel made a memorable debut for India U’19 in the 2nd One Day against England colts at Brabourne Stadium. The fast bowler from Hooghly took 2 wickets for 27 runs, to help his side level the series against England U’19.
