Xtra Time Web Desk : FC Barcelona faces the uphill task of achieving 3 points against Bayern Munich in their own backyard as they look to scrap through their group into the last 16 of the Champions League on Thursday.

The Catalunyan giants right now are just a mere shadow of what they used to be at their brilliant best in the past. And recently, under their newly appointed manager Xavi, they are not particularly in the best of form which makes the task in the Champions League even more tougher.

Battling with injuries and limitations Xavi’s team would like to make the most of whatever resources the team possesses if they have to earn an unlikely victory against a strong Bayern Munich side in Bavaria in order to qualify for the last 16.

The German giants on the other side would like to end their group stage campaign against a battered Barcelona who would come into this match after losing to an average Real Betis side at the Camp Nou.

The Spanish giants would expect a lot from players like Memphis Depay and Ousmane Dembele where as the Bavarian club would count on their star striker Robert Lewandowski to score the all important goals against their weakened opponents.

Now, with the possibility of Europa League football looming over Barca, it would be interesting to if they could turn the tables against the Bundesliga champions. All eyes on Thursday would this marquee game as it could turn out to be one of the games of the tournament.
