Xtra Time Web Desk: Wednesday saw the match day 2 of round three of this year's Champions League where it was a mixed day for all the heavyweight clubs.

FC Barcelona is having a very tough time in La Liga, thus they had to come back to winning ways and Champions League is the place where they would love to turn things around. From the very beginning, they went ahead from a Lionel Messi penalty. Gerard Pique in the 65th minute made it 2-0 for Barcelona. When everything was going for Barcelona, Viktor Tsygankov of FC Dynamo Kiev scored in the 75th minute and made it an interesting contest. However, they couldn't do much and Barcelona won the match and they'll hope they can keep the momentum going in La Liga.

Chelsea faced Stade Rennais on Wednesday. Chelsea started with a 4-3-3 formation and kept Timo Werner in the wings and Tammy Abraham as the striker. It was an easy day for Chelsea as in the 10th minute mark they went ahead of a Timo Werner penalty. In the 40th minute, Dalbert of Stade Rennais saw a second yellow because of a tackle in the box. Werner didn't make any mistake and Chelsea were leading 2-0 by halftime. Tammy Abraham scored in the 50th minute to seal the deal for Chelsea.

The German giant, Borussia Dortmund beat Club Brugge 3-0. All the 3 goals came in the first half of the match. Thorgan Hazard scored in the 14th minute and followed by a brace from Erling Halland in the 18th and 32nd minute. With this win, Borussia Dortmund is now leading their respective group.

It was a very tough night for Paris Saint Germain. After losing to Manchester United in the last round, they needed a win to turn things around but failed to do so. Angel Di Maria scored in the 6th minute and gave PSG the important lead but then he failed to score from a penalty in the 16th minute which turned out to be a heavy miss at the end of the match. Christopher Nkunku of Leipzig scored in the 42nd minute to tie the score before half-time. In the 57th minute, Emil Forsberg from a penalty gave Leipzig the important lead. Later, 2 of the PSG players saw red cards which made it impossible for them to comeback.

Just like PSG, their group rival Manchester United also had a tough night out there. They lost 2-1 to Besaksehir. Demba Ba scored in the 13th minute to give Besaksehir the lead and Edin Visca made in 2-0 for them in the 40th minute. Anthony Martial scored in the 43rd minute but Manchester United couldn't find a way to comeback.

In few other matches, Juventus beat Ferencvarosi TC by 4-1, Sevilla won 3-2 against FC Krasnodar and Lazio drew 1-1 with Zenit Saint Petersburg.
