Kolkata:
Kingfisher East Bengal’s two Caribbean footballers Carlyle Mitchell and Willis Deon Plaza will be on their way to their national duties as the duo will return on 5th September. Plaza has been out of sorts this season and only managed to score one goal off three games so far. On the flip side, Mitchell showed great resilience on the back and also managed to score two fine goals to help his side to win the game against Calcutta Customs. Both the players will be leaving the city at 9am on Friday.

As a consequence, both the players will miss Kingfisher East Bengal’s next game against Railway FC on Monday. East Bengal in now very much on their mission to win their record 8th CFL title on a trot, and it will now be interesting to see how the other players perform to compensate the void of the two dependable weapons.

Though both the players will be available for the much awaited Kolkata Derby. On the flip side, Gabriel Fernandez, who has already scored a goal in the league seemed confident ahead of the next fixtures, as he said, “The team is playing well and things are getting better and better everyday. We are enjoying ourselves as a team.”
