CFL 2017: East Bengal appoints new coaching staff, special training for Plaza ahead of facing Peerless

EB PRACTICE (6)
Kolkata: Kingfisher East Bengal to face Peerless FC in their third match of the Calcutta Football League on Saturday. The East Bengal Side seemed off-coloured despite registering convincing victories over NBP Rainbow and Calcutta Customs respectively. The East Bengal side though is very much in concerns over the form of Trinidad and Tobago International Willis Plaza and trying in every possible way to get his form back. His native Carlyle Mitchell was seen supporting him with a separate session to help him getting the confidence back.

Railway FC is quite a formidable unit on paper and registered two consecutive wins in the two games they played in the CFL 2017 so far. The likes of Nigerian goal poacher Dodoz and former India International Syed Rahim Nabi would certainly give Peerless the much needed confidence before facing mighty East Bengal.

East Bengal on the other hand appointed Khalid Jamil’s favourite goalkeeping coach Abdul Siddiqui as the new support staff and he was seen spending some serious time with the goalkeepers. Later Khalid said, “We didn’t play too well in the first two games and we are aware of it. The positive thing is that we have won both the games we played.”

The East Bengal coach though is giving a lot of respect to his opposition as he said, “We give equal respect to all the teams and we are not taking Peerless lightly at all.”

Meanwhile, Left full-back Lalramchullova picked up an injury during the training session and if he fails to get fit before the game, Tanmoy Ghosh might come as a substitute.
