Presently Badminton World Federation is conducting meeting of their world-governing body council. The meeting is mainly highlighting over the new form of badminton. The meeting of the stake holders of the federation will decide the possibilities of introduction of this new form of game.
To introduce this new form the federation has decided to collaborate with some beach tournaments. This will be the trial of the beach badminton. At first there is the target to collaborate with Asian Beach Games and Russia’s National Beach Games.
“The feedback from such events will certainly help as we look to develop this genre of badminton. There are legions of athletes and fans who are into outdoor sport, some beach sport particularly. It’s an area that’s very attractive commercially,” said BWF President Poul-Erik H yer.
The meeting conducted in Kunshan of China was to bring the new era of badminton got the green signal to fly. Now the testing depends on the sand of Goa of India. In 2018 the Asian Beach Games, 2018, which is the next schedule of Asian Beach Games, is going to be played.
Now the federation is in search of the answers of the technical problems to be occurred during the new format. “There are a lot of technical aspects we have to get right, especially with the shuttle. We have to look at these things first but we are committed to taking badminton outdoors”, said president of BWF.
Apart from the beach edition of this game the federation is also thinking of introduction of e-gaming. “The internet and social media have challenged our imagination with regards to sport and the e-gaming evolution is constantly re-writing the possibilities of what can be done with and through sport,” said BWF president.
