Xtra Time Web Desk: The Pakistan cricket team on Friday decided not to allow media to cover the net practice ahead of the marquee clash against India. Pakistan had an optional practice today. The Men in Green preferred not to disclose their strategies ahead of Saturday’s big game against hosts India in the ICC World Cup 2023 game at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Captain Babar Azam had a long look at the wicket along with pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammed Rizwan. The wicket is likely going to be prepared of black soil. According to sources close to the Pakistan camp, they are likely going to make one change.

Either experienced opener Fakhar Zaman could be drafted in the playing XI in place of Imam ul Haq or fast bowler Mohammed Wasim junior can play in place of a spinner. In that case Mohammad Nawaz will make way for Wasim.

The Pakistan team stressed on fielding during the practice session on Thursday. Babar & co had an extended training session under the lights on Thursday. Upon reaching the ground, the team gathered for a huddle where Mickey Arthur, the director of cricket, was seen discussing strategies.

Pakistan’s likely playing XI against India will be Abdullah Shafique, Imam ul Haque, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shaqueel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammed Nawaz, Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf.
