Internet Desk: Following the success of the inaugural pink ball test against New Zealand in Adelaide last year, Cricket Australia is thinking about playing two tests under lights against South Africa and Pakistan. According to a report in Sydney Morning Herald, Australia will play two day-night Tests against South Africa and Pakistan next summer in Adelaide and Brisbane respectively.
Cricket Australia is expected to finalise its international and domestic schedules for the 2016-17 season later this month.
According to Herald, the first test match of the summer will take place in Perth instead of Brisbane. Gabba, which has traditionally held the first test of the summer would forfeit its customary hosting rights to the first Test of the season and instead host the opening match of the Australia-Pakistan series in December.
The first test between Australia and South Africa will take place at WACA in November. The Proteas will next play a test match in Hobart and Adelaide. The test match at Adelaide will be played under the lights . Australia will then meet Pakistan in the day-night Test in Brisbane and complete the series with matches in Melbourne and Sydney over Christmas-New Year.
