Asian Games 2023: Sunil Chhetri to lead 18 member Indian football team

Xtra Time Web Desk: The All-India Football Federation (AIFF) on Thursday named an 18-member men’s squad for the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, commencing on September 19. The AIFF extended its gratitude to the Indian Super League (ISL) clubs and the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) for their collaborative efforts in facilitating the release of players for the national team’s participation in the Asian Games.

AIFF President Mr. Kalyan Chaubey acknowledged the demanding nature of the football season in India this year. He emphasized the challenging schedule that required careful management, with numerous events unfolding both domestically and internationally. Chaubey highlighted the achievements of the Senior National Men’s Team, who recently concluded a series of matches, and underscored their upcoming commitments, including the Asian Games, Merdeka Cup, World Cup Qualifiers, and the AFC Asian Cup.
