Arjun Tendulkar gets his maiden call up to the Mumbai Ranji squad; Prithvi Shaw to lead the side

Xtra Time Web Desk : Mumbai Cricket association on Wednesday announced their 20 man squad for the coming Ranji Trophy. The 41 time Ranji champions would be led by Prithvi Shaw this season and consists of some very experienced names along with some youngsters with the most striking with one of them being Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar.


The strong batting line up consists the captain and explosive opener Prithvi Shaw who has been scoring tons of runs in domestic cricket for the last year or so. Along with him there are some bright young talents Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan and experienced campaigners like wicket keeper batter Aditya Tare.


Shivam Dubey has also been called up to the squad as an all rounder along with Gulam Parker, Sunil More and most prominently pace bowling all rounder Arjun Tendulkar, who would be looking to make most of whatever opportunities he gets.


The bowling line up however would be spearheaded by experienced speedster Dhawal Kulkarni along with Mohit Awasthi and Roystan Das being his bowling compatriots.


Speaking about the squad to PTI, Mumbai chief selector Salil Ankola said, “Prithvi is a brilliant captain and fantabulous opening batsman, what else you need.”


Mumbai are placed in Elite nine-team Group C and will open their campaign against Maharashtra on 13th January. They will then play against the Delhi from 20th January in Kolkata.
