Xtra Time Web Desk : Mumbai born Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel on Saturday made a dream comeback to his birth place to take 10 wickets against India in a solitary Test innings at the Wankhede to put his name into the history books.

The Blackcaps spinner started off his proceedings with the with the wicket of opener Shubman Gill. This was just the start of a special story which saw the New Zealand bowler make a clean sweep through the batting order of Team India only to end with Mohammed Siraj’s wicket. The gritty off spinner looked quite unstoppable as he finished the first innings with incredible figures of 10/119 in 48 overs in what was a one man show for the Kiwis.

Also, Patel has now become the first ever New Zealand bowler and the third bowler ever in the history of the game to take 10 wickets in an innings after Jim Laker and Anil Kumble achieved this feat in 1956 and 1999 respectively.

It will now be very interesting to see how this special achievement helps the 33 year old to perform in the second innings against a strong Team India.
