Kolkata: Former manager of greats like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli now joins the Indian Football Association (IFA). Coming as surprise to many he is none other than Biswaroop Dey.

A loyal person of the former BCCI and ICC president Jagmohan Dalmiya, Dey is now in his 15th year of service for the CAB. His tenure started under Dalmiya and is currently ongoing under the guidance of Sourav Ganguly. His last term ends on July 15 of this current year.

Currently the treasure of the CAB, but under the LODHA committee order his term will end and as a result he is on his way back to the IFA governing body.

The journey of his career started when he was an official of IFA. After spending years with football he joined CAB under Dalmiya’s reign and then has spent a long term of 15 years.

Starting a journey with football for him, ends with the same sport and as a result he is joining from Central Calcutta to the IFA governing body.

“After being a football official I became a cricket official and now I am back to football. Although cricket remains my first love, my journey started with football” said Dey.

While serving for the CAB, he became the manager of the Indian team in 2011-12 for the India-Australia-Sri Lanka triangular series.

He was also assigned the manager of the 2014 India-Australia T20 series and for the 2015 Bangladesh test series.

He represented BCCI from the CAB and then went on to the IPL’s governing council and was the Media Coordinator.

Now in the IFA, the question arises to whether he would be able to effectively work for IFA after successfully running the CAB. To which Dey said, “This is not a lone game. No one can work alone. In CAB we worked collectively, here also we will work as a team. It is up to the IFA Secretary Utpal Ganguly to use me. The way he will guide me, I will follow.”
