Internet Desk : After some amazing football against the UAE,  the Indian U16 Colts had to digest a defeat in their first match in the AFC U16 Asia Cup. Before their second match of the Group A, India’s Dutch coach Nicolai Adam said, “We watched them live at the Stadium for some time and have watched our own footage as well.” He added, “The second goal which Saudi Arabia scored against Iran can be just described in one word as ‘beautiful.’ It displayed the quality on their side. I see them as strong as UAE and it would be very difficult to beat them.”

Mohammed Abdullah Al Abdali, the Coach of Saudi Arabia Under-16s has set his sight nothing less than reviving the winning memories from the ’80s when the youngsters from the nation lifted the AFC Under-16 Championship silverware for the last time.

Saudi Arabia won the AFC Under-16 Championship twice in four years in the 80’s (1985 and 1988) but since then the coveted silverware has been eluding them.

“It has passed on to generations since 1989. We, obviously, want to go back to our Country with the trophy,” Abdali sounded pretty affirmative about getting back to the winning days.
