Xtra Time Web Desk: ATK Mohun Bagan on Tuesday qualified for the next stages of AFC Cup 2021 after they topped Group D. In their final group fixture against Bashundhara Kings, the Mariners salvaged a draw after trailing by a goal. Antonio Lopez Habas’s team won their first twp group fixtures against Bengaluru FC and Maziya R&SC as they ended with 7 points from three games.

With the group stages being accomplished, ATK Mohun Bagan will face either FC Nasaf of Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan’s FC Ahal in the Inter-Zone semi-finals on September 22. Ahal emerged as the winners of Group E while Nasaf topped Group F.

Turkmenistan’s FC Ahal had 3 opponents in its group – Dordoi Bishkek and Ravshan. They won both of their games to manage a perfect record in their group stage matches. FC Nasaf of Uzbekistan had 4 opponents in its group- Nasaf, Khujand, Altyn Asyr, and Alay. They also won all their matches in their group to finish on top.

Ahal finished at the 2nd spot in the Yokary Liga while Nasaf finished at the 5th spot in the Uzbekistan PFL.

It is no doubt going to be a daunting task ahead for the Green and Maroon brigade.
