Internet Desk: A maiden five-wicket haul by India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah helped India to restrict the hosts Sri Lanka for mere 217/9 in the third ODI at Pallekele today. Jasprit was well backed by other Indian bowlers and it would be pretty easy chase for India, looking at their batting line up.

After winning the toss against India, Sri Lankan skipper Chamara Kapugedera elected to bat first. Bumrah gave no chance to the hosts to settle down as he took the wicket of their opener Niroshan Dickwella(13) in his second over of the game.

After returning to the squad Thirimane (80) and Chandimal (36) were the only batsmen who stayed at their crease but except them no other batsmen batted sensibly.

India, too, were a little sloppy on the field but unlike other matches pace bowlers also contributed handsomely this time around.

Top-order batsmen Niroshan Dickwella (13) and Kusal Mendis (1) failed to support Chandimal at the other end and were sent packing early and the scoreboard read 28/2.

Middle-order batsmen Angelo Mathews (11) and Chamara Kapugedera (14) also returned to the pavilion without adding much to the team’s score.

Milinda Siriwardana (29), however, tried to stabilise the innings but just when things seemed a little good for the hosts, rain played the spoilsport for a few minutes.
