2018 FIFA WC: Five disappointing records Argentina created against Croatia

XtraTime Web Desk: Argentina will be very upset as they lost to Croatia in a must winning game in 2018 FIFA World Cup. They are not at all up to the mark on Thursday. Let’s see what the five ugly records Argentina received last night are:

Failed to win last three World Cup games:

In 2014 FIFA World Cup Argentina beat the Netherlands in the tiebreaker but lost to Germany in the final. In the 2018 FIFA World Cup, they failed to win both the matches they played. They drew with Iceland 1-1 and lost to Croatia.

The biggest loss in 50 years:

Argentina lost to Czechoslovakia 6-1 in 1958 in the group stage. Yesterday, they lost to Croatia 3-0 which is the biggest margin in 50 years.

Messi failed to score in 647 minutes:

Messi scored his last goal in 2014 World Cup against Nigeria. He scored a couple of goals but he failed to score in the knock out matches. In this year he didn’t score in first two games.

First time in 11 World Cups:

After 1978 it’s the first time that Argentina failed to win both matches in the group stage of FIFA World Cup. In 1978 they lost to Poland by 3-2 and drew against Italy 1-1.

After 20 years:

Croatia is just the opposite of Argentina. In 1998 Croatia qualified in the Semi Final but failed to go to the final. After 1998 World Cup this is the first time they managed to qualify in the knock out stage.
