XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team’s one of the best all-rounders of all-time retired from international cricket back in June 2019. Now he has talked regarding his international cricket career and said former India skipper & current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly backed him more as captain than MS Dhoni & Virat Kohli. Yuvraj also made it clear that it’s difficult for him to choose about who was the best captain between MS Dhoni & Sourav Ganguly, but he also revealed that as a cricketer he had more beautiful memories under the captaincy of Sourav.
Yuvraj Singh had earlier revealed that he was hurt by the treatment meted out to him as he looked to make a comeback into the Indian team.
“I have played under Sourav (Ganguly) and had a lot of support from him. Then Mahi (MS Dhoni) took over. It’s a difficult choice to make between Sourav and Mahi. I have more memories of time under Sourav because of the support he gave me. I didn’t have that kind of support from Mahi and Virat (Kohli),” Yuvraj Singh was quoted as saying by Sportstar.
Yuvraj had the backing of then-captain Sourav Ganguly, who nurtured the Punjab all-rounder and helped him develop into one of the most feared cricketers in the world.
“I think this has its advantages and disadvantages. It’s heartbreaking to see so many people dying all over the world. It is spreading so fast. People, rather than panicking, should visit the official health sites (WHO and Union Health Ministry) to really understand what the disease is,” Yuvraj said when he was asked about the Covid-19 pandemic.
Yuvraj, 37, last played for India in an ODI against West Indies on June 30, 2017. Overall, Yuvraj Singh played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20 Internationals for India from 2003 to 2017.
Yuvraj Singh was at his best in the 2011 World Cup. 362 runs, 15 wickets, 4 man-of-the-match awards and the Player of the Tournament – Yuvraj Singh would forever be remembered for his scintillating performance in India’s second World Cup triumph at home.
