Xtra Time Web Desk : Virat Kohli on Saturday dropped a bombshell as the Delhi batter stepped down as the Test captain of the Indian cricket team after the series defeat against Proteas. Kohli, the most successful Indian Test captain, took to Twitter to make the mega announcement. Since then the cricket fraternity has been sending best wish to him over his stupendous career as a captain.

And now, Team India speedster Mohammed Siraj has added himself to that list and has posted a heartfelt tribute to his 'captain'. The 27 year took to his Instagram to write, "To my superhero, I cannot be thankful enough for the support and the encouragement that I got from you. You have always been my great brother. Thank you for trusting me and believing in me for all these years. For seeing the great at my worst. You will be always be my captain King Kohli."

Siraj, who has been a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, has played under Virat since IPL 2018, had also been called back into the Indian Test set up during the tenure of the 33 year old as captain in the 2020-21 away Test Series against Australia after making his debut against New Zealand back in 2017.

Kohli replaced MS Dhoni as the full-time captain in the 2014/15 season amidst the away series against Australia after Dhoni decided to quit the Captaincy. He won 40 out of 68 Tests as a captain and it was under him that India became a mighty force and dominated every team at home.
