You cannot give Kohli a chance, says James Anderson

XtraTime Web Desk: Virat Kohli was dropped on 21 in the first innings and he capitalized on it by playing a knock of 149 runs in the first innings which brought the Men in Blue back in the first Test. As per England star pacer James Anderson if you drop a player like Kohli on 21, he’ll capitalise on that.

“You can’t drop Virat Kohli on 21, because he’s one of the best players in the world, and he’ll capitalise on that – which he did.

“We’ve spoken about it because of the amount of drops in the last two years, maybe even longer.

“When I was in the team that got to number one in the world, we caught everything. We had an amazing cordon, very fortunate, that was settled,” said Anderson while talking to the media.

Though Anderson feels that they have a good chance to win the game tomorrow.

“Tomorrow we’ve got a really good chance of winning the game. If we recover well tonight and come back fresh in the morning, we know it’s going to be 25-30 overs max one way or the other – so we can give it all we can,” added Anderson.

Anderson also made it clear that, Kohli is standing between them and the win and his wicket can get them the much needed victory.

“More than likely his wicket will give us the win. If he bats like he did first innings … even batting with the tail, it was so hard to keep them on strike, have six balls at them.

“He just managed to find the gap, or get down the other end – the way he batted with the tail was brilliant.

“We need five wickets, simple as that, fairly quickly – otherwise, they’ll get the runs.

“We’ve just got to give it everything we’ve got in the morning for the first 15-20 overs – leave absolutely nothing out there,” concluded Anderson.
