WTC Final 2023: Rohit Sharma attends his first practice session with Indian squad in UK

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Rohit Sharma on Tuesday attended the first training session with the Indian squad at the Arundel Castle Cricket Club in England ahead of the WTC Final 2023. Also joining the practice session was stand-by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan. The Indian captain was seen spending a long time discussing with Head Coach Rahul Dravid.

Star India batter Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Jaydev Unadkat started training from Monday. Virat was seen facing Umesh Yadav and standby Mukesh Kumar in the nets. He also faced Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel. Kohli is back to his very best, as he had a terrific show in IPL 2023.

Another batter the Indian team management will be heavily relying on is Cheteshwar Pujara, who had an impressive stint with Sussex in County Championships Division 2 games. Shubman Gill too has been in scintillating form in the IPL

Left arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat, coming back after an injury was engaged in a long discussion with head coach Rahul Dravid and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

The likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami and Ajinkya Rahane have already travelled to UK on Tuesday morning after the IPL 2023 final.  Once the full squad is available, then there will be a intra-squad match or match simulation practice.

The much-anticipated World Test Championship Final against Australia will take place at the Oval starting from June 7-11.
