Xtra Time Web Desk: The comprehensive 7-wicket win against South Africa in the second test at Cape Town saw India reclaim the top spot in the current WTC 2023-25 points table. The defeat in the first test at Centurion pushed India to the sixth spot but the win on Thursday put them back at the top spot. It was India’s second win in the ongoing WTC 2023-25 cycle. Their previous win was against West Indies at Dominica

Rohit and his boys bounced back emphatically to win the New Year Test against Proteas inside 2 days. The Indian team lost the first test against South Africa by an innings and 32 runs. India made it to the finals of the first two editions of the WTC but failed to lift the Test mace.

 India has played 4 test matches so far, registering 2 wins one loss and one draw. They have 26 points with a winning percentage of 54.16. Remember they were docked two WTC points for slow over rate in Centurion.

South Africa are placed second with 12 points after two test matches. The Proteas have 12 points with a winning percentage of 50. Third in the WTC Points table is New Zealand with 12 points from two tests. The BlackCaps have a similar winning percentage as the Proteas.

Australia has played the maximum number of test matches in the ongoing WTC cycle. Pat Cummins and co have played 7 tests so far, winning 4 and losing 2 while one was drawn. The reigning World Test Champions are fourth in the points table with 42 points and a winning percentage of 50.

Bangladesh and Pakistan are placed at No 5 & 6 in WTC points table. The series win in New Zealand see Bangladesh at 12 points with a winning percentage of 50. Pakistan has played 4 test matches so far in the WTC cycle and has registered two wins and two losses. Shan Mashood’s side has 22 points with a winning percentage of 45.83.
