DEXtjNyXgAA6W_K Internet Desk: Sri Lanka suffered a humiliating series loss (2-3) against Zimbabwe as they got beaten by three wickets in the fifth one-day international on Monday. Sikandar Raza was the star performer for Zimbabwe. The Pakistan-born Raza, who opened the bowling for the visiting side, returned with impressive figures of 3-21 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium. It is Zimbabwe’s maiden series win in Sri Lanka and first overseas triumph in eight years. The home side were restricted to 203-8 after Zimbabwe elected to field first. The visitors made easy work of the run chase as they successfully reached home with 71 balls to spare. Zimbabwe opener Hamilton Masakadza top-scored with a fluent 73 before rookie off-spinner Akila Dananjaya struck back with four wickets to rattle the Zimbabwe middle-order. The visitors slipped from 137-1 to 175-7 -- losing six wickets for 38 runs -- but Raza and skipper Graeme Cremer (11 not out) hung on for an unbeaten 29-run stand as the perennial underdogs erupted in celebrations. The loss will certainly act as a wakeup call for Angelo Mathew’s side as they will be hosting India in a full series starting later this month. The series will feature three tests, 5 ODI’s and 1 T20 match.
