British football legend returns to football with a memorable performance
Internet Desk: British football legend Paul Gascoigne returned to play his club Newcastle for a charity match to honour the late Pavel Srnicek on Sunday. Paul scored a goal too for his side to take the match to another level. Managing 15 minutes of the first half, Gazza joked around and had an ear-to-ear grin on his face with the ball back at his feet. And after the break, the Newcastle great marked the occasion with an emotional goal in front of his home village. The Magpies legends ran out 7-1 winners, with Harper, Paul Robinson and Beardsley adding to Gillespie’s hat-trick. Tony Clarke scored for Felling. The match was the second edition of the Srnicek Cup, which was played in memory of the late Toon goalkeeper who breathed his last on December 2015 at the age of 47.
