File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: MS Dhoni once again proved that he has enough fire in him to carry on playing for India. Dhoni played a match winning knock of 78 runs yesterday to lay the platform for an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series with two more matches left. His knock was filled with caution and aggression as he took India past the 250 run mark in the third ODI against West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The hosts in reply capitulated in front of the Indian bowling for 158 runs, thereby losing the match by 93 runs. It once again raises the debate whether to bring in fresh blood like Rishabh Pant behind the stumps or persist with Dhoni, who has been a match winner in his own right. Dhoni' s recent form has led to the debate but his knock last night will put to rest the debate that he still has a lot of cricket left in him. It will be interesting to watch whether Virat Kohli hands over the maiden India cap to Rishabh Pant in the fourth ODI. He did hinted that he will give an opportunity to the talented wicket keeper batsman from Delhi who is already been tipped to take Dhoni' s position in the Indian ODI team. With just two years to go for the 2019 World Cup in England, it is perhaps the right time to groom Pant just like Kohli was given an opportunity during the 2011 World Cup in India. According to former selection Committee chairman Kiran More, "Everyone is aware of Dhoni' s contribution in Indian cricket. Recently I had noticed that there is a lot of debate with him passing his prime but I can guarantee there is yet any substitute for the great man (Dhoni). He still has a sharp brain and clear mind and recently is seen actively helping Virat with his inputs on the field. The biggest advantage for him is he can read the game from behind the stumps. The fact that he can walk into this Indian team as a batsman was once again proved yesterday. His fitness is immaculate and can match the young guns in the team. To me he should be an automatic choice for the 2019 World Cup. As far as I know him he will not cling on to the position of he feel he is not doing justice." Another former wicket keeper Syed Kirmani also shared a similar opinion like More. "The sheer presence of Dhoni in the team boosts the confidence of the youngsters. He brings in a lot of positive energy in the dressing room. Just name anyone who can take Dhoni' s position in the team straightaway. Dravid was absolutely right in saying that India should look at grooming someone who can fill in the shoes of Dhoni, keeping in mind the 2019 World Cup. With Dhoni relinquishing the captaincy, he can play with a lot more freedom now. But the important thing is what the team management and Dhoni himself is thinking about," says Kirmani.
