Image Source: twitter[/caption] Aizawl, Sabyasachi Bagchi: Khalid Jamil, the man who has revolutionized the Indian football in the hills is now just a step away from creating history. Aizawl FC after winning today’s match against title rivals Mohun Bagan now need just one point from their last match to win the Hero I-League 2017. Winning the I-League would be a fairytale for Aizawl FC and the man in-charge of them, Mr.Khalid Jamil working with a bunch of young lads from the North-East is a step away from creating the historic moment. The manager of Aizawl FC brings out this thoughts on today’s game when conversing with Xtra-Time correspondent Sabyasachi Bagchi. XT:  Sir, what were the thoughts that were hovering in your head after moving here from Mumbai last year without your family? Jamil: Nothing as such, I had to do well as it is a very good team. It was fun from the very first day and I enjoyed. I just went wherever there was work, never thought about place or anything. XT: How tough was it to come here as a professional without your family? Jamil: It was tough, really tough leaving both my kids back at home, but for work you need to make such sacrifices. XT: Last year there was a revolution in Aizawl FC after they reached the finals of Fed Cup and this season too they are performing well in their home ground, how do you look at the performance of the team in this season? Jamil: The season isn’t over, one match is still left and we will have to do well till the last match. XT: So did you get your birthday gift? Jamil: One match is still left and we need to concentrate on that match as well. But thanks to the boys, I am very happy. XT: Any special message to the fans? Jamil: They have been mind blowing. A big Thanks to all of them. They supported us with their 100% passion. And I hope they will support us in the next game with the same passion. XT: You always say that the celebration should be kept for the last but today there was an exception . Any special reasons? Jamil: Today the last home match for Aizawl FC and the supporters too say that I don’t celebrate, so today I was a bit carried away and enjoyed it a lot. XT: From Mumbai  to Aizawl, your performance against the two Kolkata Giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan has always been phenomenal, so any special tactics do you make up? Jamil: Nothing as such, just general preparation that is done against all the teams. XT: Today Sony Norde was looking a bit of off-coloured. Jamil: Ashustosh was brilliant, he marked Sony really well, didn’t allow him any space to move away. Sometimes it happens that a player can’t perform well on somedays. XT: Jeje too was not in his form and that miss from Duffy in the early minutes of the game are considered to be the major turning point of the game according to football experts. Jamil: Mohun Bagan has a lot of great players like Duffy, Norde, Anas, Debjit. Yes Duffy missing the goal was the turning point of the match. But the save from Albino was good, Duffy tried really well. XT: What about the chemistry of this young team? Jamil : All of them work really hard, they train well. Today all the players played well, all did their part of the job and we got the results. XT: I was talking to Mr. Jahar Das, and he was praising you for your work, and the most important work in Aizawl FC is the development in the grassroot level. What is our take on that? Jamil: The entire work at the grassroot level is done by Sir Jahar Das and a big additional point is the abundance of talent in this region. XT: Today during the match there was a complaint from the Mohun Bagan camp, Sanjoy Sen as well as the other Officials complained about the highly reduced visibility in the first half. Do you think that was the reason for the loss of the Mariners? Jamil: No. I don’t think so. These things happen in games. That cannot be the legitimate reason for their loss. XT: There are so many Indian coaches at the present moment like yourself, Sanjoy Sen who have been appointed by the Professional football clubs. Do you think clubs should concentrate on Indian coaches more than foreign coaches? Jamil: Indian or Foreign coaches doesn’t matter, whoever is good should be given the chance. XT: Any comments on the upcoming Match against Shillong-Lajong? Jamil: Lajong are a very good team and we will be playing an away match in front of their fans, so it will be tough for us, but we will play to win the match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjGV2KP-5Rg&feature=youtu.be
