In the evening, the club appointed former Mohammedan Sporting Head Coach and Trevor Morgan's Assistant coach in his first innings as East Bengal coach Ranjan Chowdhury will be in charge for the remaining games. Though Mridul will remain to be the "registered coach" at the moment. Though officially Ranjan's designation will be the "assistant coach". In an interaction with www.xtratime.in ,  Ranjan said, "Yes I got a call from Manoranjan Bhattacharya as he wants me to work in the remaining part of the I-League. He asked me to come on tomorrow to brief me about my job and I will go accordingly. Then I will start my work." According to the I-League rules, The AIFF will allow a team to work with a B License coach until they find an "A" License coach. I-League CEO Sunanda Dhar told XtraTime, "Yes, East Bengal can get nine to ten days time to appoint an A-License coach, considering the situation they are in at the moment." East Bengal Secretary Kalyan Majumder said, "We have decided to appoint Ranjan as the assistant coach and he will be registered among the officials so that he can sit on the dug out." On the flip side, Trevor James Morgan came to the club today probably for the one last time to meet with the officials. He didn't speak to the media, but his face told a lot of untold words as he seemed literally crestfallen.
