File Pic[/caption] Kolkata: India won the Border-Gavaskar series 2-1 by beating the mighty Aussies last month. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner was a bit disappointed that they have not won the series or drew it but the fiery Australian opener thinks they had shown the world that they can do well in sub continent too. “The series was fantastic for all the cricket fans. There are a lot stuffs that happened on and off the field and as players we just hoped that everyone had enjoyed watching the series. It is really disappointing no to draw the series or win the series. For us we took a lot of positives out of the way that we played. We have proven that we can play in these conditions,” Warner said. There was a lot of sledging had happened during the Test series. Warner today said they were always 'friends' with Indian cricketers and they play for the ultimate goal to make it number one sport in the world. "We always gel very well. It's a different feeling when you put both the teams on the field. Our ultimate goal is to go out there and win for the country. We will do anything to try and beat each other," Warner who's now rubbing shoulders with the Indians as captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL said. "There were antics on and off the field in the Test series but we are also good friends. We enjoy laugh, this galvanises everyone in International cricket. "That's one thing that we love for playing in the spirit of the game. Obviously there's Fairplay award to play for in this tournament. That plays a big role in International cricket where we advocate for the game. "We have to keep the game in a nice fair spirit to make sure that we have grown the game of cricket. That's the ultimate goal for us as athletes. To make sure cricket is the number one sport in the world," Warner said while donating his bat and gloves to the Fanattic Sports Museum at Ecospace in New Town today. Warner said it's crucial for the Indian cricketers to come back fresh not only for IPL but the Champions Trophy in England in June. "Each individual has to rest and recover as well. There was so much Internatioanl cricket. 13 in a row at home for India. It was extremely difficult for bowlers as they have to come back fresh not just for IPL and Champions Trophy." Smarting from their four-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians where dew played a big role, Warner said they were looking forward to a day start. "It's a day game for us and will be a bit different than yesterday's match you saw. It looks a very good wicket with ball coming nicely, little swing and variation. We are looking forward to the challenge." "It's a day game as well. Spin will play a big role and both have very good bowling line-ups. You need planning to win the game. We need a team performance to beat KKR." Asked about Narine's promotion atop the order he said: "It wasnt surprise at all. Narine did the same thing in Australia. For us, it's about sticking to our basics. I won't be changing my thoughts about who's going to bowl at certain players. But yes if he opens, our plans will be according to what we see out there." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT1FsgjNvTc
