Image Source: XtraTime[/caption] Kolkata: Things doesn’t look too rosy for East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan at the moment, with injuries to key footballers. After Wedson Ansleme, Chris Payne is also troubled with his injury in upper thigh. The Aussie striker did not take part in the practice session today. Both Wedson and Payne were sent for scan after the practice session in the morning. “They are both going for scans. Hope they haven’t done too much damage. Chris has got a slight strain at the top of his thigh. We are awaiting their scan report to make sure the injury is not too serious,” said Morgan to the reporters at East Bengal ground after practice session. Morgan has been busy training his footballers since coming back from a vacation. On being asked whether the excessive burn-out is creating the injuries or not, Morgan commented, “We are only doing what we should be doing. We are not killing the players and that will be a ridiculous thing to do. But I and Warren have got a fair bit experience about what we feel we should be doing. As I said the players have had their time off and break. Now they come back in and work hard this week and next week we start moving towards the game.” East Bengal will re-start their I League campaign against arch rivals Mohun Bagan at Siliguri on April 09. With still a few days to go for the all important clash, Morgan will be hoping all his footballers recover in time for the derby. Meanwhile the Indian players will join training from tomorrow, confirmed the gaffer. Trinidadian striker Willis Plaza will be returning back to Kolkata after playing the World Cup qualifiers for his country. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8oqp6C_G1E&feature=youtu.be
