Image Source: BCCI[/caption] Internet Desk: The wicket of Peter Handscombe gave him the most satisfaction, says young chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who made his debut in the fourth and final test at Dharamsala. It was his breakthrough (wicket of Warner) in the first innings that got India back into the match. He followed it up with three more wickets to return with 4/68. The 22 year old chinaman bowler will be joining the Knight Riders camp on April 02. He gave an informal telephonic interview to xtratime.in correspondent Sabyasachi Bagchi from Chandigarh airport, enroute to Delhi. Here are the excerpts: What was going through your mind when Rahane threw the ball at you for the first time? All I was focusing on was to keep the ball in the right area. I gained in confidence after I bowled the first ball in the right spot. I was concentrating bowling in the right area. The moment I got Warner out, I was confident to try out variations. You got very emotional after getting your first wicket in test cricket. Yes, it was an emotional moment getting my first wicket in test cricket. I have always dreamt of becoming a test cricketer. What will you say about the ball that got Maxwell out? He was not comfortable from the beginning and that is why he was trying to play shots. He was taking chance against me and that brought his downfall. That was an important wicket as he was the in-form batsman and everyone knows he can change the course of the match. But the most satisfying wicket for me was that of Handscombe. He is a good player of spin and did well with the bat in the previous innings to save the test match for Australia. I had planned his dismissal and happy that it clicked. Were you surprised to make your debut against Australia in Dharamshala? It wasn’t a surprise for me as I was confident that I will get an opportunity someday. Luckily I made my debut at Dharamsala. I always dreamt of playing for the country one day. It was surely not a surprise for me but I was a bit nervous on the morning of the first day. I was told by the team management a day before that I was playing the test match. So, there was an excitement as well as nervousness. I remember waking up at night due to excitement You dreamt of becoming a fast bowler like Wasim Akram. How did it change then? I used to cry alone when I was told by my coach (Kapil Dev Pandey) that I do not have the physique to bowl fast. It was my dream to become a fast bowler, maybe I was destined to become a spin bowler. I still remember the first ball I bowled at nets. I didn’t know anything about chinaman. Now that I have made my debut as the first chainaman bowler of the country, I feel happy. Coming back to the chinaman bowling, did you knew about the term? Frankly speaking I didn’t know about it. I just concentrated on my bowling and mastered it. What sort of inputs did you get from Jadeja and Ashwin? They kept on inspiring me at the nets whenever I bowled. It was a good experience for me when seniors like Ashwin and Jadeja keeps on motivating you. Both Virat bhai and Anil bhai has also given me great support and backed me to do well. How was your experience interacting with Australian spin bowling legend Shane Warne? It was a dream comes true for me to meet a legend like Shane Warne, whom I have idolized in my life. I grew up watching Warne’s videos and dreamt of meeting him. It was a lovely experience as I discussed my bowling with him in front of Anil bhai. Did you get any message from Gautam Gambhir? Gauti bhai is very happy with my performance. He has always supported me. It’s good to see when your captain backs you. I saw him making a statement about me in the media. He always promotes the youngsters. During your stint in KKR, you also had the opportunity to meet Brad Hogg. How helpful has it been? Last two seasons I had the opportunity to see him closely and interacting with him. We discussed a lot about our bowling and it has helped me immensely. It was a learning experience for me in the last two years. What is your experience about sledging in the series? It did not affected me as we are used to it as I hail from UP. These things are quite common in our parts. I think sledging is part of the game. I think whatever is said on the ground at the heat of the moment should be kept inside. I was also sledged when I walked into bat but that didn’t bother me.
