Image Source: XtraTime[/caption] Kolkata: Santosh Kashyap's Mumbai FC held Mohun Bagan to a disappointing 2-2 draw at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium today. The frustrating draw has no doubt put Sanjoy Sen's men under tremendous pressure in their title race as they now have to play some serious fixtures in the remaining part of the Hero I-League. Mohun Bagan started the game in a tentative fashion as their defence was under pressure from the very first minute. Mumbai FC got their first chance of the game in the 4th minute of the game when Victorino Fernandes' powerful shot was well gathered by Debjit Majumder. Mohun Bagan got their first chance of the game in the 11th minute when Balwant provided a fine pass to Jeje and the Bagan forward fired his shot just wide. Immediately after that move, Mohun Bagan got their opening goal in the 12th minute when Sony Norde delivered a fine corner kick and Katsumi headed an assist for an onrushing Pritam Kotal, who made no mistake to score the opening goal. In the 20th minute, Thoi Singh equalized for Mumbai FC with a breathtaking finish which gave no chance to Debjit Majumder to put a hand to it. The goal entirely shattered the Bagan defence and left the fans in complete shock. Victorino Fernandes scored another fine goal in the 22nd minute as Reagan played a gorgeous ball for the Goan forward and he flicked the ball at the back of the net. Mohun Bagan had another set back as their regular goalkeeper Debjit Majumder got substituted in the 45th minute and the replacement Shilton Paul made a wonderful save to prevent the surging pressure of Santosh Kashyap's men. In the second half, Mohun Bagan created a number of attacks but the Mumbai FC defence stood firm to disappoint the Mariners time and again. The combination of Jeje-Balwant-Sony-katsumi tested the skills of Laxmikant Kattimani for at least 6-7 times. The persistence paid off at the very end, as Sony Norde delivered an inch perfect ball for Balwant Singh in the 89th minute and the Punjabi striker thumped a powerful header to make it 2-2. The Mohun Bagan camp would be utterly disappointed to lose points in this crucial game as their deplorable run continues with just a single victory now in their last five competitive matches. Sanjoy Sen's men remain unmoved at the third place in the points table with 22 points from 11 games.
