File Pic[/caption] Kolkata: The roads have been cleared for Mohun Bagan to host their I League matches at Rabindra Sarobar stadium. The former I League champions will begin their campaign at the venue against Churchill Brothers on January 08. Coach Sanjay Sen will get an opportunity to practice with his boys at the stadium on Thursday and Friday. Mohun Bagan coach Sanjay Sen was not too sure about getting to train with his boys at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium after the practice today morning. According to the gaffer, “We will only get to know whether we will play at the venue by evening. We had plans to practice at the venue of Thursday andFriday.” According to sources, the club officials are confident of getting the confirmation in next 24 hours. “We have approached the Government and Kolkata Police. And we are hopeful to get their consent and support,” said Mohun Bagan assistant secretary Srinjoy Bose to xtratime.in Indian Super League franchise Atletico de Kolkata also has given their nod to stage the matches at Rabindra Sarobar, provided they get the consent from the Green Bench. According to Atletico de Kolkata CEO Subrata Talukdar, “We have no problem in Mohun Bagan hosting their I League matches at Rabindra Sarobar. But they have to get the no-objection certificate from Green Bench.” There were serious doubts with the I League matches being staged at the venue as it was far from ready according to the current scenario of the stadium. There was also delay in getting the permission from the Green Bench to host the matches even a few days back. Due to the unavailability of the Salt Lake Stadium because of the Under-17 FIFA World Cup, both city giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal have decided Rabindra Sarobar and Barasat respectively as their new home grounds.
