Internet Desk: Delhi based Sudeva FC is set to bid for a direct entry in the forthcoming I League starting January 07. With Sudeva deciding to bid, the number of franchise so far has risen to five who have shown an interest to have its team in I League. The last date for submitting the bids is December 08, while the bid documents will be evaluated on December 11.

Sudeva FC is the only academy in Delhi-NCR to have its team in I-League.

I-League CEO Sunando Dhar confirmed to xtratime.in that the start date for the new season will remain January 7 as planned, but the number of teams competing will only be known in a week's time.

Earlier FC Bardez (Goa), Minerva Academy FC (Chandigarh) and Chennai City FC (Chennai) had submitted their bids.

The AIFF was forced to apply for fresh bids following Sporting Clube de Goa's decision to pull out from the I-League.

Sunando Dhar suggested the forthcoming I League season could have up to 11 teams competing, but added that AIFF is yet to receive any formal communication from Sporting Clube de Goa or newly-promoted Dempo, both of whom are believed to be actively considering a pullout from the I-League.
