Manoj Tiwary spots cricketers for Bengal
Kolkata , December 24 : Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary was seen spotting cricketers at various grounds in the maidan . Tiwary was given the role of a spotter by CAB president Sourav Ganguly following Bengal’s dismal show in the recently Vijay Hazare Trophy . Bengal under Tiwary’s captaincy could manage to win only against Goa in the first match , while losing their remaining four group matches . Manoj was seen at the Kalighat ,YMCA , Town and Rangers ground respectively . He was seen spotting the cricketers playing in the JC Mukherjee matches . He caught up with his team mates at the Town ground where Mohun Bagan were playing against Calcutta Union Sporting . He later commented, “It will be unfair to judge any cricketer just watching them for the first time . It’s just not right to assess anyone after just watching them once , as today is my first day . But I found the cricketers putting in their extra effort trying to impress me which ever ground I went . ” He was impressed with the performances of junior cricketers like Amir Gani , Pradipto Pramanik , Kanishk Seth and Pramod Chandila . Manoj will be going to different grounds to watch the JC Mukherjee matches , as he will place his opinion at the selection meeting when the selectors meet next to pick the Bengal squad for Syed Mustaq Ali tournament .
