Chasing a victory target of 153 runs, West Indies were 114/5 at stumps on Day 4. Brathwaite, who carried his bat in the first innings, was yet again unbeaten on 60 runs in the second innings. Dowrich too remained not out on 60 runs to guide West Indies to a 5 wicket win.

West Indies bowled out Pakistan in the middle session on the fourth day for 208 runs to set up a target of 153 runs. The Caribbeans was in some sort of concern as they were reduced to 67/5. But Brathwaite and Dowrich managed to stop any further inroads by the Pakistani bowlers. They took the score to 114/5 at stumps on day four.

Requiring 39 runs to win, both Brathwaite and Dowrich negotiated the early threat on Day 5 to guide West Indies to their first win in 14 Tests and 18 months, and first win away from home against a major team since 2007.

Pakistan, who earlier sealed the series, ended the third test on a disappointing note. They won the series 2-1.
