In his autobiography, Afridi has opened up on his infatuation with the armed forces. He has also expressed his views on the political scenario of Pakistan. The autobiography would comprehensively explain the journey of Afridi who came to the limelight after smashing a world record for scoring the fastest century in One Day International in 1996 as a 16 year old boy. Afridi also holds the record of hitting the most number of sixes in the history of ODI and has received most player-of-the match awards in Twenty20 Internationals. The book will also focus on the hidden incidents which the player had never discussed. Afridi is quoted as saying, “In all my years of cricket, I have given hundreds of interviews and done dozens of TV shows, but what you will read in my memoir are the stories and thoughts I have never shared openly.” HarperCollins India has acquired world rights to the autobiography which will be released in 2017. The publisher who had earlier published Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography “Playing It My Way” has dubbed the book as “A no holds barred account of one of cricket’s most controversial and high-achieving practitioners.”
